SECE (Sociedad Española de Construcciones Eléctricas) was founded in Madrid in 1912. The politician and businessman Pich i Pon brought about its establishment in Barcelona four years later to provide a nearby, quality service for the important contracts it established from the very start with cities such as Zaragoza, Valencia and Barcelona. The commitment and passion for honest, quality work of all its workers helped SECE overcome the difficulties of the nineteen-twenties and establish a niche in the sector of maintenance and conservation of public lighting throughout the twentieth century.

Now, as SECE is about to celebrate 100 years of effort, work and history, its success is as valid as it was on the very first day on account of its clear, solid philosophy of providing a service as only small companies know how, with the benefits of the potential of the largest firms. This approach has made it a leader in Catalonia. The 300,000 light points and the 80 municipalities managed in 2008 guarantee, moreover, that it will continue working passionately and professionally to become a touchstone in the sector of lighting management and maintenance services, both on a national and international scale.
